Mary Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (Hons) and has more than 15 years experience in the field of Intellectual Property. Prior to joining Ella Cheong Spruson & Ferguson, Mary had worked in a large law firm and managed the Intellectual Property portfolio in over 60 countries for a multi national pulp & paper company. Her experience in this field ranges from management and prosecution of trade mark applications to investigating and settling trade mark infringement matters in Spain, South America, China, Japan, Indonesia and Philippines.
At ECSF, Mary is involved in the management and prosecution of both local and international trade mark and design applications for clients with diverse backgrounds. She also advises on trade mark opposition and infringement matters relating to the Asean region as well as handles domain name registrations.
Mary is an IP Consultant under the Scope IP programme of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and has on periodic basis contributed articles for various international IP publications as well as ECSF's own news publications.
Mary is also a registered Trade Mark and Design agent in Malaysia.
