The firm “Ella Cheong & G Mirandah” (ECGM) operated as a boutique IP legal practice, having been established by Ella Cheong at the invitation of the Singapore Government.

April 2001
“Ella Cheong Mirandah & Sprusons” (ECMS) was created via an association between Ella Cheong, Gladys Mirandah and the Singapore arm of the Australian firm of Spruson&Ferguson. Taking over the IP practice (including all contentious proceedings before the Registrar) of both ECGM and Spruson&Ferguson Pte Ltd., Ella Cheong and Gladys Mirandah themselves moved too.

March 2004
ECMS changed its name to the present name of “Ella Cheong Spruson & Ferguson” (ECSF) after the departure of Gladys Mirandah in 2003.
