Roy is a non-executive director of ECSF Malaysia and is a registered Patent, Trade Mark and Industrial Design Agent in Malaysia.

Roy graduated from University of London with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree and was subsequently called to the Bar in London, Brunei and Malaysia.

Roy is actively involved in various intellectual property associations. He is a committee member of Licensing Executive Society (Malaysia Chapter) and a member of the organising committee for Asian Patent Attorney Association of Malaysia for the recent concluded APAA meeting in Sabah, Malaysia for the year 2003. He spearheaded the APAA group that reached the summit of Mount Kinabalu during this meeting. Roy is also a committee member of Intellectual Property Alumni Association Malaysia. Roy was chosen to be a Judge for the 16th International Invention, Innovation, Industrial Design & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 05) held on 19-21 May 2005.

Roy is also an active member of Malaysia Intellectual Property Association and was invited to be their speaker in their annual seminars.

Roy speaks English, Malay and Chinese (Cantonese, Hakka and Mandarin dialects) fluently.
